Spectrum Therapy Center Behavioral Therapist Tiffany Alwan
Tiffany Alwan joined Atlanta, Georgia’s Spectrum Therapy Center as a behavioral health nurse and therapist in 2019. The activities at Spectrum Therapy Center involve collaborating with a team of psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Tiffany Alwan also provides individual and group therapy services, as well as mentoring graduate interns in the organization’s counseling and nursing practicum. In 2020, she expanded her professional activities by establishing the Alwan Foundation for Mental Wellness, a nonprofit working to expand access to behavioral therapy services in underserved communities.
Before joining Spectrum Therapy Center, Ms. Alwan worked as a registered nurse in the behavioral health unit at Emory University Hospital. This position involved providing direct patient care to individuals living with a range of complex psychological and behavioral health conditions. Between 2015 and 2017, she worked for Psychology Associates of Georgia as a therapy and counseling specialist.
Ms. Alwan studied nursing at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. She also holds a psychology degree from American University in Washington, DC, and a master of Science in Psychology and Behavioral Studies from St. Joseph University in Philadelphia. Her organizational affiliations include the Autism Society, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the Atlanta Behavioral Health Coalition.
